The Key to Becoming Unstoppable is You
Brothers, we recently gathered in fellowship, tackling poignant and intriguing questions designed to challenge us. The message from Pastor Eddie Lake was clear: You are the leader that we’re looking for. As men, we hold the key to what God is doing in this generation. We cannot wait for another Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm, or Ella Baker; we must step up because if you don't do your part, others cannot do theirs.
Why We Must Act Now
Current events are troubling. We face threats and attacks, which may be repositioning us back toward the time preceding the 1964 Civil Rights Act, requiring us to have a "second conversation" with our younger relatives. Furthermore, we are troubled by those predicting events like the rapture (which some claimed for September 23rd, during Rosh Hashanah), leading people to sell cars or give away homes, despite Jesus saying, "no man knows the day nor the hour." This confusion demands that we go back to the drawing board and pray for insight and revelation.
A mystery is that which has been veiled or hidden, but the good news is that 1 Corinthians 2:10 tells us that the veil has been lifted by the power of the Holy Spirit. What we need to know to live on this earth is already present.
Disciplines for Powerful Living
We must prioritize sincere prayer, not waiting for moments of desperation. We follow the example of Jesus, who rose "very early in the morning while it was still dark" to go to a solitary place to pray (Mark 1:35).
A crucial spiritual diet can keep us focused and dedicated:
A Psalm a day for Praise, reminding us that we shall rejoice and be glad.
A Proverb a day for Wisdom, starting over at chapter one at the beginning of the month.
A Chapter of Acts a day for Power, because Acts describes when the Holy Spirit fell, mobilizing believers into action.
How We Learn to Pray
You can learn how to pray, and this structure will help you:
Be Discipled: Have someone challenging you, holding you accountable and responsible.
Through Devastation: Sometimes we are moved into prayer when our enemies show up.
Being Duped: God sometimes has to entice us into prayer, like offering "Scooby Snacks." However, the goal is to love and appreciate God so much that enticement is no longer needed.
Your Call to Action: P.R.A.Y.
We are called to show up like Gideon’s 300 men, who were cut down from 32,000 to illustrate the "mystery of too much." These 300 trusted leadership and moved into action with their trumpets and lanterns, causing the enemies in the valley to become confused and turn on one another.
We call you, Men of Jesus, to action: Pray, believe, and trust that God will do what he promised.
Remember the acronym: P.R.A.Y.
Praise God.
Repent (Turn away from what you used to do).
Ask in faith.
Yield to Holy Spirit.
Men, the call is clear: When we pray together, move together, and trust God together, we become unstoppable champions for His kingdom. The question is not whether God is able—it's whether we are willing.
The torch has been passed to us. Will you carry it?
